My husband and I began building a home in Truckee, CA in the spring of 2010. Living full-time in Southern California made it hard to decorate a second home. Our architect recommended Julie and it has been one of the best decisions we made. She was wonderful! Not only did she make our decisions easier but it was so much fun working with her. I love to dabble in decorating and was able to join Julie on quite a few of the trips to make the selections for our home. She was also very proactive to resolve any problems or changes that needed to be addressed. During the construction process I saw what an amazing decorator she is and also grew to think of her as a friend.

In spring 2014, we decided to add a guesthouse to our property. In our minds there was only one designer for the job - Julie! As usual she helped us to make all the right decisions and we are extremely happy with the results. In fact, you would never know that these two projects were completed 4 years apart. The guesthouse looks like it was built and decorated the same time as the main home. Would we recommend Julie to design your home, YES, and we have many times since 2010.

I’ve been working with Julie Johnson since my husband and I purchased a vacation home in Mammoth over 7 years ago. Julie has a keen eye for the decorative without compromising the functional aspects of home improvements.

Decorating and caring for a 2nd home is more difficult because you’re more often than not, doing it by phone. Working with Julie allowed us to get work done on our house without us having to be there. She was able to oversee all aspects of construction and decorating and it was always exciting to see what had been completed since our last visit.
